This Women of Africa bowl depicts 8 women from two of South Africa's indigenous tribes, the Zulu and the Sotho, holding hands in unity. They are the strong Women of Africa and they support and carry one another through life.

The stoneware bowl is thrown on a pottery wheel and then the hand-modelled figures are added to the rim of the bowl.

This bowl will be a vibrant reminder in your home of Africa's gorgeous patterns and colours, as well as the heart-warming concept of Ubuntu.  

With these bowls we hope to contribute to nation building and harmony across the various tribes in South Africa.
