Citrine is a yellow to brownish orange variety of quartz, often referred to as the "Merchant's Stone" due to its association with attracting wealth and prosperity. It's also the birthstone for November and the gem for the 13th wedding anniversary. Citrine is believed to promote positivity, clarity, and self-confidence.

Properties and Characteristics:

• Mineral: Quartz (SiO2).
• Colour: Yellow to orange to orange red.
• Hardness: 7 on the Mohs scale (relatively durable).
• Rarity: Natural Citrine is relatively rare, but most Citrine on the market is created by heat-treating amethyst.
• Heat Treatment: Heat treatment can create Citrine from amethyst, but natural Citrine typically has a more even colour distribution than heat-treated amethyst.
• Zodiac: Often associated with Gemini, Leo, Aries, Libra, and Virgo.
