Hessonite garnet, also known as "cinnamon stone," is a variety of grossular garnet, prized for its warm, reddish-brown to orange-red colour, often with a distinctive "treacly" or oily appearance due to inclusions. It is a hard gemstone (7-7.5 on the Mohs scale) and is known for its unique internal features, including streaks and a "whiskey in water" effect.
