Celebrating Wassily Kandinsky

Wassily Kandinsky’s Color Study: Squares with Concentric Circles (1913)
is an exploratory work examining how colors interact and evoke emotion.

Each square contains layered circles in contrasting hues, revealing how warm and cool tones vibrate when placed side by side.

Kandinsky, often credited as one of the first pioneers of abstract art, sought to free painting from objects and focus on pure form and color. His unique experience of synesthesia — seeing colors when hearing music and hearing sounds when seeing colors — deeply shaped this vision. He believed color, like music, could stir powerful emotions without depicting real-world subjects.

A fun way to celebrate African wildlife and the Art Masters.
