Each lady figure is hand-formed from stoneware clay and hand-painted with vibrant glazes. There is a small hole in the top of her headscarf to hold an incense stick. Paired with a pack of your favourite natural incense sticks, this little ceramic makes a beautiful gift.
“UMUNTU ngumuntu ngabantu”
It is a complex Nguni word that means “the belief in a universal bond of sharing that connects all humanity.”
“I am what I am because of who we all are."
In Africa, the definition of an individual is community-based and not individualist. Zizamele's Ubuntu pieces represent this philosophy.
