Wild in Africa

Story
How It Started
I founded Wild In Africa in 2017, born from a life-changing experience that nearly ended my career as a National Geographic filmmaker. After relocating from Australia to Africa in 2013 to pursue my passion for creating wildlife documentaries, I worked tirelessly in some of the continent's most remote regions. But while on assignment in Kenya's Masai Mara, my body gave in to the relentless pace. I was found unconscious on a dirt path in lion territory and medevacked to Nairobi.
During my long recovery—six months bedridden and another three months of gradual rehabilitation—I sought a creative outlet. Using beads I had collected during my travels, I began redesigning bracelets. What started as a personal project soon evolved into a passion, and Wild In Africa was born.
A Dream of Africa
Growing up in Australia, I dreamed of Africa, inspired by countless wildlife documentaries. In 2013, I turned my dream into reality, leaving behind a thriving photography career, financial security, and the comforts of home to move to a continent I'd never visited. Armed with my camera and unshakable determination, I set out to make a name for myself in wildlife filmmaking.
Giving Back to Wildlife
"I've always loved animals—whether fluffy, scaly, or feathered—so it was never a question that our bracelets would raise money for wildlife conservation."
I knew early on that if I was going to sell these bracelets, I wanted them to give back to wildlife conservation—specifically to organisations I've worked with and witnessed making a real difference. Since launching in 2017, Wild In Africa has grown into a thriving business. Every bracelet sold supports wildlife conservation and reflects my lifelong love for animals.
