Tallest animal: Giraffes are the tallest animals on Earth. A grown-up giraffe can be up to 6m tall — that’s as tall as about 3 cars stacked on top of each other.

Neck bones: Even though their necks are so long, giraffes have the same number of neck bones as humans — seven.

Fast runners: Even though they look slow, giraffes can run up to 55km/h — that’s faster than a racehorse for short bursts.

Tall babies: A newborn giraffe is already about 1.8m tall and can stand within an hour of being born.

No two the same: Every giraffe’s spot pattern is unique, like a fingerprint.

Tiny naps: Giraffes sleep for less than 30 minutes a day, and often just for a few minutes at a time.
